We are all born into this world with essentially a blank canvas. The views and ideals of our parents will add layers to our personas. Peers around us can add their own signature; but it is truly up to the individual what ethics they come to believe and practice. As humans we take what we want and do with the world as we please.
Respect
I believe everyone should have basic human rights. I believe everyone should be treated equal, regardless of sex, race, or gender identity. As I grow older I do not like idealizing common sayings such as “treat others the way you’d want to be treated.” Someone once said to me, “that person might not want to be treated the same way you do” and it stuck with me. For my future employers, I believe that they should value their employees, support, and treat their employees fairly. Having a job that respects mental health and all health is very important to me.

Inclusivity
I want to work for a company that prides itself on being inclusive. I want there to be opportunities to grow and change the organization—whether that’s in the beginning or down the line. I also want to have the chance to promote an open-minded and equitable work environment. Now is the time to stand up for what you believe in and for me that is always having a fair and honest work environment.
Values
I want my personal values to be reflected in my work environment. I want the company to value its work and its employees. The social corporate responsibility of the company should be reflected in how they promote themselves and what level of service they intend to present. Communication is a key value of mine. I have been in work projects that failed because of lack of communication, and I do not want that to keep happening. I believe in the work that I do and that it has value and meaning.
Goals
I want my personal goals to align with my company’s goals. I want to make a difference in the world and have my company take action to make it possible. I want to be successful in my career and to find a job I love and am happy in. My employers should have ambition and drive but also be able to see actions will truly benefit the organization.
